Angry Good day just gone bad!!!!!!!!!!

Just bought my 3rd 1st Gen a week ago and after some extensive cleanin looky looky wat I found... a broken crossmember, connecting my lower control arms. Its broke about a 1/2" from tha bolt... chance of weldin?????

Wanna post pics but my fones acting dumb ...

I would remove lower control arm and weld it and reinforce it a little

In today's world I would highly recommend that you replace it. If you weld it and you get involved in an accident where it ends up broken again you will have to prove that it did not directly contribute to the cause of the accident.

I would weld it and plate it on as many sides as possible done right it won't break again

I'm with Trebor replace it if you can. By the looks of the pictures I don't think you can plate that area.

Any ideas on a place were I could score a new one without havin to give an arm n a leg??

I have a 92 gasser n my shop will that crossmember fit my 93 diesel? ?

Yes it should but with a good welder it will be just as strong if not stronger then stock .I still say weld it n be done with it less stress

You could start a pole weld or replace I say weld and reinforce just my 2cents
