Fuel Issues Air?
Fuel Issues Air?
Hello Friends,
So I am sure this topic has been beaten over and over,
but I am at some ends here before I continually throw parts then scratch my head. So I stepped away and I'm in the process of actually doing something smart Research. lol.
So replaced the lift pump, checked for voltage at the FSS 11 and 10 volts, so there is voltage there, manually primed the lift pump to purge air from the lines and to IP cant get a full flow from the purge bolt to the IP?
I did delete the fuel heater and installed a plug for the filter to fit directly to the surface with a water drain under the unit. now with this new filter in
its tight but before this started it was leaking a bit from the seal where the filter meets the mating surface so I tightened this thing best I could.
still cant stop the air issue... so?
looking to figure out where air may be coming from thinking that the line from the tank to intake on lift pump is pulling air possibly?
what are some other things you all have experienced fail that cause this no start condition?
every and all info appreciated.
Thanks
Zaar

Thank you Edwin,
I am going to try to remove the Bed this weekend with a hoist and a makeshift brace.
if that's not possible I will just figure out the best way to drop the tank from under appreciate all the info.

The bed can be pulled safely using an engine hoist and 3 or 4 decent ratchet straps from the corners of all the pockets in the bed.
Lift up in the center where all the strap intersect.
I did that last week on a '95.
Remember the filler neck for the fuel tank and tail light wires before lifting.

If I read this thread correctly, you don't really know where the air leak is, right? Is so, I would put a few pounds of air pressure into the fuel tank to see where the leak is coming from, If you already know where it is, then, in the words of Gilda Radner, nevermind...Mark

Just stick an air hose into the tank, stuff some rags around it and give it a few pounds and a few minutes and the leak will appear. That is if it is a visible location, if not, then pull the bed...Mark
lol hook a hose up to a cheetah tank and let it go!
now that would need a video for Fail of the year.
I will surely try pressure in the tank to see if I can locate the leak. thanks mark
