Factory Service Manual
Morning guys ... Getting ready to order the FSM from genos garage. I'm going to order the CD for $35.
Two questions... Has anyone tried the disk on a Mac computer? I emailed genos to make sure the disk would open on my computer and their reply was the files are PDF, so any computer will open them??? Anyone that brought the disk have troubles?
And... I read somewhere that the 93 manual is better or more detailed on diesels or the VE pump or ????? Maybe I'm confused on that. My heap is a 92 so I should order the (.....???....) manual
Thanks again fellows

Ignoring the paper vs. pdf question: So far as I know, the 93 manual has a section on rebuilding the getrag, the '92 definitely doesn't. 91 to 92 has some significant changes, as does 90 to 91. If you have a 92, I would probably get a 93 manual, but if you have an earlier truck, I would get the manual for that year, and find a copy of the getrag info if you need it.

I collect them, but don't have either a 92 or a 93 so I can't comment.
That being said, I am the opposite of Sooty, I greatly prefer the .PDF version. I not only can navigate the manual much quicker, if I need to take it to the vehicle, I can print off the relevant section, and not worry about it getting greasy.
I also have all of them stored on a flash drive that I keep in the truck, and have decided that if I ever do go to a smart phone, they will all be loaded on my phone as well.

That's the difference I was thinking about... Thanks Alec!
I also like the idea of being able to print the needed pages and take it to the work then recycle, reuse, trash the greasy paper after the job is done

To answer OP's question. The CD contains a single password protected PDF file.
Biggest advantage to the PDF version is the ability to search it quickly.
Also paper, in the 93 version, is over 1500 pages. I have key sections that I refer to frequently, such as the electrical diagrams, printed and bound.

What I do is take the cd version, which is downloaded to my documents file, and when I use something more than once, I do a screen shot of that page, and save it in a separate file that says "Dodge Truck Notes". This way, I don't have to search, as each year, I forget torque sequences and stuff that gets done either every year or every other year..
Quick find as it's saved separately.
I've tried the paper thing, but I wind up getting them full of grease, and tossing them out.

Note that I later discovered pages 0-4 and 0-5 were missing. After much hand-wringing, Chrysler was able to send me the missing pages. If anyone purchased his/her FSM from Mopar and needs the missing pages then PM me and I'll send them over.

My home computer has:
FSM's of several different years,
Cummins 6bt Parts Manual,
Complete parts manual for my truck,
Parts and service manuals for almost every Onan small engine ever made.
TM's and LO's for military gensets.
On my smartphone I have:
FSM
Dodge Parts Manual,
Cummins 6bt parts manual,
A-727 service manual.
All in PDF format.
I also have it on a flash drive so I can transfer it to any computer need be.
I can also pull it up on my Galaxy tablet or iPad to take outside but to be honest, I really do not need them to fix anything.

Well, Jim
You need to start renting yourself out to some of the guys here on DTR. Who knows ? Maybe it will catch on like this guy .....
Just imagine Jim Lane with a tire iron (which I imagine isn't far from the commercial)
