Haynes vs. Factory Service Manual

Hey there, I just got my truck back from the paint shop, have to let it sit a week before I wash it though, once I do, I will be taking pictures and posting them hopefully. But to the point, I want some reading material on my truck, should I get the Haynes Manual or the Factory Service Manual from Dodge, or Both......

By far the best choice is the FSM. I have had the Haynes before on different things and always found them lacking. IMHO. FSM will cost $$, but it is very much worth it if you want to do your own service and repair work.

The Haynes are one size fits all for a number of years.
Well, it doesn't all fit.
Get the FSM for your specific year.
One thing that aways bugged me about Haynes is when you get to something even moderately difficult it says to take it to a mechanic, the FSM doesn't do this.

Yep, FSM. The Chiltons and Haynes aren't really all that great past the pictures.

I bought my FSM through www.techauthority.com

The FSM is worth it for the wiring diagrams alone.

I tried both- and the FSM is worth about 500 times more than the haynes IMHO. Wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, diagnostic procedures etc. Even if you intend to have the truck repaiered at a DC dealer you can look up what should have been done and how and compare it to the bill you get.

Here's the link for '04, guess it's the same as '04.5 otherwise go for '05 https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...rn=80104&qty=0

It was on the third page of the '04 listings.
Boy they want a lot for the new ones, my '95 is only $75
