Dumb question of the year award

This may be the dumbest question ever posted, but how do you get the lens off of roof clearance lights to replace the bulb? Does the lens even separate from the housing? I can't figure it out to save my life. Thanks.

Un screw the cab light from the roof.
The orange lens will slide down from the grey rear cab light housing.
The bulb should be able to be replaced easily by un screwing the socket from the orange lens.

If only Dodge would have thought to stamp five holes on the inside of the cab a gasket wouldn't have been needed to replace the bulb. I guess they figured the gaskets were cheap enough (when available) to buy a new one. Rather than removing interior panels to drop the headliner.

Rickcher just be careful with the rubber gasket. You will have to reuse it with silicone if you don't have a source for the gasket material. Luckily being the head of maintenance at a food warehouse I have access to different catalogs that sell that type of gasket material. So a nice roll is in my shop for replacing those very bulbs

Dumbest question I've got from anybody: a self proclaimed "diesel expert" friend of mine asked if it was a v6 or v8 while admiring the cummins under the hood

Probably the same guy that asked if my truck was running ok, as it had a bad knock. I looked at him long enough to make sure it wasn't a joke . . .

That's okay, a buddy of mine stared right at a 6.7 Cummins that was on display and said, "Man, look at that V8."

I asked if he was joking several times, and received the same answer, "no" each time.

And two years later it still makes for a good joke

Since I live in a rural area, I do not get those comments on my truck...The Jetta TDI and my MB 300D, well that is a different story.

I even got pulled over by a TX DPS trooper as I was getting on the Interstate with my MB. I was a WOT, and like any IDI diesel, they smoke at WOT. Anyway, he pulled my over for excessive smoke. Told me that, and since he just noticed the trunk badge of a Turbo Diesel, he was sorry of any inconvenience.

I had someone ask why I was putting oil in my gas tank.
I should have told him it had an experimental 2-stroke slant 6 in it and no one knows about them because they only built 2.
