Here's the standard I follow:

I made a straight line out of it, just like Wannadiesel's edited photo shows.

Smoke: If you mash it with low boost, the truck will smoke heavy until boost builds. You can drive clean if you roll into the throttle slowly until you have some boost, then you can get on it.

You can also run with it completely removed. It's amazing what things you can remove from the pump and it still run LOL.

This (assuming the picture works . . .) is what I would suggest. I have been meaning to do it for some time, just haven't been able to get to it, so, it is as yet un-tried. However, based on the geometry of the levers in there, I think that you can get all of the full boost fuel, without having to drive with your tip-toe to keep from pouring unburnt fuel out your exhaust . . . If I am wrong, you can always take off the extra material later . . .

To make as much smoke as possible go for the flush grind, like Dave's picture above.

I only ground mine 1/2 way off, and my smoke looks like this:

Thats with 366 spring, AFC lever ground, and about 2 turns on the fuel screw.

this made me think. Is there a way to take the lever out with out grinding it. It would be nice to be able to do that and then you can put it back in for emissions if needed
