Hey anyone happen to difference between the two types of rings? I just ordered a new synchro ring for 4th gear since im replacing my input shaft. Got it today and its made of brass unlike the oem steel ring. Should i even use it or should i go back to the original steel ring? It doesn't seem to be worn. I only got the new one since im putting in a new input shaft and its cheap..

Well I don't know...think I'd want the same material as the OEM syncro, there was probably a reason they decided to use steel as opposed to brass.

If I remember my automotive history correctly, brass rings were used in the interest of less noise......Ben
