I had done the A/C condenser trimming, and remount last year. So I just removed it to check everything and make sure it wasn't rubbing on anything.

Here you can see how much room I have on either side of the IC and those brackets.

Trimmed the top of the upper mounts on the IC....

Powerstroke IC install

You can also see in the A/C condenser pic the trimming I had to do on the rad support. Tried to keep it to a minimum.

PS IC Install

And it's basically in place now. Just need to fab up the mounts.

The lower mount will use the stock pocket and then run over to the bracket and bushing.

And the upper mount will use the original bushings from the OEM IC.

I will slot the aluminum tag and slip these in like the original ford bushings. Then fab up some brackets to hold it in place.

Well it's -16*C (3*F) with the wind chill today...that's not work outside on the truck weather in my books.

Wish I was as quick with my conversion as you Val...I really do...but it will be done when it's done.

A friend and I swapped my '85 crew over to a 12V getrag 4x4 in just over three days of thrashing in the shop.
We started at noon one day and three day later at 4 PM we where test driving the 12v crew with no fenders on it. - I wanted to weld up the cowl cracks first.
That is drive the running 360 4 speed 4x4 crew into one bay of the shop and the rusted out 12V 'Rag dump bed into the other and start swapping parts.
But we didn't get into the small rebuild details like Thrashing is..
I just installed used good working parts.

He is doing a sick job!

Thanks guys...I appreciate the kind words!

I know I get bogged down on the little details...a lot...but I don't really want to go back and redo things any time soon.

Hope to have the drive train back in the crew in a week or two. And then I can drive it into the garage for the interior and wiring. At least that's the plan so far.....

I have a spare 12V crew cab to run if one is down, so I was not as meticulous with some of the details.
I just had a STACK of spare parts in the shop I had been saving for years, and the complete donor truck here.
We did the whole swap without ONE trip to the parts store!

Just think how long you spent on just searching for nuts and bolts…
Hahaha..

Just get back out to the shop crank up the Lamb of God and finish her up, when you get the time.

I am sure driving the old T+C everyday is wearing thin.

Yup it sure is....I sure miss my diesel!!

But the Insurance is up this week on the wagon...and it's starting to over heat....even though it's been in the negative's temp wise! I know I've had a wounded motor from the drag strip last year...but guess the daily driver duty has been putting the nails in the coffin!!

So now I'm going to be borrowing my Fathers 94 Jeep Cherokee until the crew is done.

Man you have been very BUSY!!! Keep up the pace you have been going at and you will be driving it in no time.

Do you have plans to paint the whole truck once you are done with the conversion?

Thanks, Yes it's coming along...just not at the pace I'd like.

As for paint....that will have to wait until next Spring/Summer. I don't have the time, or place to paint in this winter weather. And the wife's starting to get a bit...well you know...about me working on the truck "All the time" as she puts it.
