Haha well when you do it every day and set up to do transmissions it goes fairly simple, but if I were doing on my back at home with no lift or no air tools it would probably take me at least a day or two depending how cold it was lol

Sigh....all about having the right tools at your disposal and what you do for a living I'd say. Don't beat yourself up NJT, as you could probably hang double French doors quick lickity split, and plow like no one else. Can't even imagine me plowing...LOL!

Cool, installing the trans, T-case AND the crossmember as one unit, there is a big time saver not having to take that apart and put it back together.
I always learn from watching people build stuff that they do that everyday.
Yeah that trans jack and other tools are looking better than lying on my back in the shop…

Haha lol called flat rate, it just looked easier to remove it with the cross member because I saw no need to remove it. I wasn't using the HD trans jack, the t-case was way to heavy and acted like a counter weight so I had to use a screw jack to balance the mess lol I will say having access to my rack 7 days a week has spoiled me oh so much.. I ***** and moan when I have to work on my harley or other cars in the driveway on the ground hahaha crapy thing is I'll probably be doing this again around tax time when I can afford my new torque converter, go figure

fine...

Yo go ahead and rub it in..

Na na na na na na.... I can have my trans out, flex plate in, and trans back in 4 hours, and you can't.

Na, na na na na na

And I'm doing it again because I'm a poor guy who works at a dealership and can't afford to do everything at once, but I have $75,000 in tools

Na na na na na na........

Lol....

You just like playing with your toy..... admit it....

Really cool how you took that out as an assembly...

Hahaha lol I wish 75k in tools realistically probably 30000 but never the latest I do love my toy/daily driver/tow rig/creek bed explore, and all of the above. Believe me I wish I could afford a better plate and a TQ converter, but with 3 kids and a wife on permanent disability from a work injury believe or not things are a little tight with a single income you know what I mean. How does everyone else pull there trans?, pull the t case and then crossmember? I love this site

That's the normal way, when you're working on the ground. Less wobble of the assembly, and less likely that your trans / transfercase will fall off the jack, or flip over.

I used Randalls SUPER DUTY trans jack. It's normally used on Big rig stuff, but worked great for my heap. He's got this special plate that slides about, and adjusts in every position. The t-case also sat on part of the jack. Thing must be 45 years old, but worked flawlessly.
