How Much Does A Broken Flexplate Cost? Pics pg2

A lil story for all you modded guys with out trans work, this was my weekend that ended last nite @ 2:00am

Leave Ft.Mcmurray,ab @ noon, we make it to Grassland and she says "Your truck is making a lot of noise!"
I have a quick peek and can't find anything visibly wrong but it is making some racket, we continue on. 30kms later BOOM!!!! rpms go to 3200
pull over ,crawl under, and find oil coming from the little torque cover. Dig out some tools ,remove cover, find nice chunks of curved aluminum. At 10:00 that nite we are finally on our way to Edmonton.
Rent a truck to go and get my girlfriends cbr600 out of my broken truck, and a dog decides to jump all over my just rented 2007 GMC 1/2 ton and scratch the door to oblivion! Can you say thank Gawd I got the insurance!
Spent next couple days running around Calgary and on the phone trying to get parts, found a billet BD flexplate @ Bigdog Performance(thanks Richard) in Calgary. NADP Built me a billet custom convertor overnight(thanks Craig). My best friend who is a shop foreman @ Southtrail Chrysler got me a rear main and trans input seal(thanks AL). I got a ride to my truck and was dropped off @5:30pm(thanks Char). 10:30pm my truck is on the flatbed and we are headed to Ft. Mac we arrive @ 2:00am(thanks Tevor), my truck is in my driveway and I'm going to go rip my trans out as soon as my coffee is done.
Flexplate $477
Convertor $1050
Rental $418
Seals $83
Towing $700
Beer $ Still calculating bill!
So this is only a small part of what it's costed so far, I still may need a trans, but I'm prepared for that. I will post some pics once I get it apart.

Yep, I read how alot of guys are running high horsepower programmers and no torque management or low end power without at least a billet flex and built trans. Im amazed we dont hear more stories like this. Sorry about your bad luck, but it sounds like youve got alot of friends to help you out and get you running again. Good luck.

I too am amazed we don't hear more about it.

Have you looked at how thin the metal is on the stock flexplate? I'm surprised stock torque doesn't rip em' apart.

very true. I had mine hanging on the wall for a while for fun. The stock flexplate is a joke.

Ok I appreciate the witty replies.
Thanks for kicking me while I'm down.
I just had a good look at everything ,there are 2 torque mounting bolts missing, 1 half out. The spinning flex/torque wiped out the aluminium block adapter plate and the rear main housing. I'm talking with the dealer who replaced my factory torque under warranty as to why I'm missing mounting bolts and why 1 locating dowel is all smashed.

Probably not. I usually hold my own rowing though.

How many miles ago did the dealer work on it?? If you are missing bolt and have other issues that could be due to the dealer messing up the repair you may find the broken flex plate is not the costly.
