ASA intake questions

I put my new diamond eye four inch exhaust on a couple weeks ago and the truck sounds great. I ordered an ASA intake and got it put on and i have some questions about it. I could not find any hole on the inner fender to mount the stabalizing bracket is the first question and the second is the turbo is noticably louder and sound correct when it comes time to change gears, but spooling up it has a "gushing" sound and not a higher pitch "singing" sound if you know what i am meaning. Turbo is stock, i dont have a boost guage and fuel screw has been turned in about a round. I have an 02 powerstroke automatic with an AFE stage II intake and four inch exhaust and the turbo really "sings" when rpm's are up. Just wondering if i dont have enough boost to really get my first gen to "sing" or if its just suppose to sound like that. anybody else experiencing this?

The stock turbo doesn't have an MWE slot in like the newer ones do,thats what makes the whistle. Being a 92 model it might have the 21cm housing so the turbo spins slower causing less noise at lower rpm.

Yea it probably has a 21cm exhaust housing so it's going to be hard to get the turbo to spool so you can hear it. a 12cm housing will make it sing real good...trust me.

also, Turbo noise is 10x more noticeable from the outside than the inside.

I forgot to mention that, have somebody drive your truck while you stand outside and you will hear it. My truck sounds like a semi, I can hear the whistle way before I see the truck.

I just put a ASA intake on my 93 and the hole for the bracket is down low on the wheel well, near where the jack is held, you need to remove the wiring gromet that holds the wiring to the wheel well. I had to tweak my bracket a bit to fit nice but not a lot of tweaking. Its a nice intake, now i just have to get my Diamond Eye exhaust kit installed.

I miss the sound of my ol h1c, it had more of a whine instead of whistle and sounded so good. And it sounded awesome when you let off.

I drilled my own hole in the fender well for the bracket. I could barely hear my turbo before the ASA was installed. Now I hear it clear as a bell. But I have a 16cm exhaust housing and hit 32lbs on the gauge.

This Super 40 hybrid sounds pretty good through my stock filter and box. I'm sure once I get rid of it in favor of a BHAF or Amsoil dry filter, it's gonna drive dogs crazy! It literally screams if I'm on it hard enough.
