After valve adjustment question

Alright first off alittle history, I got the truck and found 1cyl. not running to its full potential and i swapped injectors twice (1st time resealed second running 215hp injectors) after I noticed before the swap you'd have to use alot of throttle to keep it at 55-60, Also I was only getting 9-10 mpg roughly drove pretty hard.

swapped to the 215s with maxed out pump it'd take alittle bit before the turbo would spool ( normal for the 21cm housing) and then after it lit hold on because it was spinning the tire...Yes tire (needs lsd ) but still seemed to take quite abit of throttle to keep it at a consistant speed. Now since i swapped injectors I had to remove 3 valve covers and reused gaskets so now they leaked so i figured i'd replace them all and adjust the valves.

I noticed the valves where a touch loose maybe .010 or little more little less on some went ahead and tightend them up, Now take off power is the same but after the turbo lights it doesn't set you back in your seat and it doesn't spin the tire as good, But takes alot less throttle to keep it at 55-60 and milage is up to around 14-15 I topped off checked and reset and will figure it again once i run 1\2 tank through it.

Does .010 off really make that big of a difference in power, and why'd it move the power band down?

I know lift and duration is greater now and the only thing i can think of is with the taller lift and longer duration at cruising speed it takes in more air and has a more complete burn than before. the only thing i can think of for the mid range is i'm packing more air in and so i don't have enough fuel for the amount of air being packed in....I need more fuel.... My egts dropped 200-300 degrees also. boost stayed roughly the same as far as i can tell. Am i close to why that happend??? Thanks. I know its long sorry.
