'92 3/4t suspension lift questions...

planning to lift my CTD up hopefully 3-4inches, preferrably without buying the whole kit, which if i could find one around here wont be cheap. shouldn't have any trouble getting the springs to do the lift part, but would like to find out from someone who has done one already, exactly which other pieces (part numbers) need to be changed. will have time this winter to take on this project, so any advice would be useful. thanks in advance/////matt

Aside from the springs, you'll need longer shocks, longer brake lines, drop pitman arm and adjustable drag link. Do an online search for your choice of brands; several companies manufacture those parts you'll need. Skyjacker and Superlift, to name a couple. Don't forget to realign after all is done.

They know there gen 1 stuff & I've bought 2 sets from them & treated me well. They use to give discounts to Ramchargercentral.com (RCC) members.

Got my 2.5" Skyjacker Kit from Summit Racing in a couple days. Nice kit included everything I needed except replacement spring bolts. You might also want to get new rear spring shackles. I have done a couple of Dodge/Ramcharger lifts and all of them came apart with the torch as the inner bushing sleeve rusts to the spring bolt. These guys have been the best source for shackles that I can find and still cheaper than Mother Mopar. http://www.stengelbros.com/SpringShackles.htm

National Tire and Wheel has been running a 4 inch lift kit for sale for while. Under $500 as I remember for front and rear springs ,and shocks. I have several lifted '72-'93 dodges in my driveway. All you need for steering correction is a 3 inch "spacer block" that goes under the "arm" that is on the Dana 60. Under this arm is the kingpin. This raises the mount point enough that it is fine for me with 6-7 inches of lift. This block is made by superlift and as I remember under $80.

i just lifted mine 6" and if u have or get a borgeson steering shaft instead of an adjustable drag link u can save a few hundred bucks. it will affect your turning radius one way a bit, but for me not enough to justify a drag link.

Yea, but is that a lift kit that's listed as working on the 89-93 diesel trucks? That may be just a gas engine specific lift kit, but you still could possibly use it. Is there any difference in their kit (the lift leaf springs for front/rear) compared to Skyjacker's 3-4" kit?

Yeah, it probably was more of a gas engine kit, though it is 3/4 ton rated. It might sit a little lower than the advertised 4 inch with a CTD over it. You might need the special CTD only bushings for the front shackles as the bolt is a bigger diameter on the CTD trucks. You might be able to re-use the old ones though. Other than that it would bolt on. Good price for a 4 new springs and shocks lift kit. The kit is under thier deal specials, so you don't know which brand the kit is but they are brand name probably skyjacker or superlift I would guess.

For an easy lift you need a suspension lift kit. But I guess people now a days are getting practical. Anyway, you need a pitman arm, shocks brake lines and other parts.

What difference are the 3/4 ton and 1 ton gasser lift kits from the ones rated for one with a diesel? is there more springs in the front? or are they stiffer/different size or what? The gasser kits are so much cheaper and was wondering if anyone has got one and tried it with a cummins without having major issues?
