'91s Intercooled or not?

I've been browsing ebay to see what there is for nice 1st gen CTDs. There a couple nice '91s on there, one is intercooled and the other is not. Which one is right? Or are they both right, did the intercooled ones come out in '91 1/2?

Bingo. Could be either/or in 91. They're both gonna be good trucks, and you can always add an IC in the future if you find a sweet non IC truck. Good luck in your search!

Welcome to DTR!

I would personly go with the 91 1/2 intercooled truck if i had the choise, becuse you have to fab your own system, theres no system the will bolt on.....With that said, i have a 91.0 non intercooled and I love it!!!!

Was there any hp diff between the i/c and non-i/c ones? If so, how much?
Also, in all the 1st gen CTDs, was there a hp diff between the auto and stds?

Thanks for the replys!

The non ic's have the 18.5 cm exhaust housing and much larger injectors. They are easier to turn up but you have to watch exhaust temps when towing much more carefully than the ic'd trucks. I would buy a 92 that was dead stock just because it is likely to have less wear due to the 21 cm housing and the small injectors and intercooling. It's head is slightly more robust than the older trucks. Turning up the later models requires an injector change that is not required on the pre 91.5's. So it is kinda up to you......

There's more to it than slapping em on. The intercooler part is not bolt up. The other small parts though are bolt up.
