TPS help

Hi gang, I think my tps is acting up, my OD shift point went from 40 mph ish to 45 to 50 now to 58 or so. I checked the idle voltage and it is 2.98 with the tps off the mount all the way shut. should I try the hole drilling and cleaning or is there something else sending to much voltage to the tps? Thanks ahead of time Terry.

Check the tps voltage with the truck not running but with the key on. The voltage at the orange wire should be between .7-.8. Is your truck shifting in and out of OD intermittently?

Ok, drilled a hole and tried cleaning, didn't help. took it apart and it looks like the mylar? is coming off the ribbon that runs around the case and makes contact with the drum. guess its time to bite the bullet, thanks Terry
