More amazing work...and the re-design for the roof should be very interesting.

That looks like some pretty stout box tubing! definitely going to be strong as a complete body once done!

I read here, from one of you guys, that cracking was an issue on this conversion. I guess he's eliminating that possibility.

Is there room for a sun roof in this ? Imagine that big for a sun roof ? Your entire family, and local softball team could stand inside during parades

Yes this roof won't be cracking or coming apart at the joint. No "oil canning" of the roof either

Just curious,

What is the game plan for transition between the different ribs in the roof ? A central bar in which they all meet ?

Tremendous amount of work to do this conversion. Are you doing any of it yourself, or is it all on them ?

Man, any idea how much weight you are adding by beefing up the roof? Just curious is all, looks like a lot of metal. Will be stout when done.

They have a lot of falling tree branches up there.

I like the reinforcement points between the doors. Nice touch, as it will distribute torque load of the hinged door, and "wife slamming the door" load of the striker side

I would love to be there looking at that being built. Anything fabrication linked is like truck pourn to me....

The suburban roof bows are going to be used and the joint will be on top of one of the bows and stitched together

He is going to do all the metal conversion work, I'll probably get it blasted somewhere and epoxy primed. After that I'll be doing the 4wd, diesel and rest of the drivetrain conversion, wiring harness, suspension, interior etc

No idea but they ride better with some weight anyway!
