Yeah, but by then its too late and you have lost prime on the system. Same as running out of fuel. Not good.

So, you going to have a remote camera or a porthole on the floor to monitor that?

Heh, I guess I could... but no... the filtration unit is going to be in the fuel/battery box right behind the driver's side door. Wont be hard at all to reach over, open the doors and take a look.

What do you think about putting a large, cheap filter in front of the Davco (screw in standard, maybe 30/50 micron) so that it catches all the big crap being the first filter in the line, thus reducing the need to replace the expensive, finer elements in the Davco. Do they make "normal" (aka cheap) filters that can go suction side? Like a Fram or some trash. You know, $10 throwaways.

Or are the elements in these not that expensive? I cannot seem to find any prices for them. I know the Racors, some of the elements were a couple of hundred bucks.
The elements are $15 at truck parts shops, they are very common. I wouldn't put anything between the Davco and the tank.

A good choice of element: http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cg...mpaign=product

You could run any pump you wanted to.

Aww heck, that's a good deal then. Yeah, no need to put anything between the tank and the Davco. Thanks for the info, I am gonna look at putting this in then. I'm sold on it.

One other thing I have been wondering is this: is there a way to inject additives (i.e. power service) directly into the fuel stream on the fly at a ratio that I can control and change on the fly? This would allow me to have a bulk tank of PS and a bulk tank of Lucas and whatever else, then inject it at a steady ration and be able to change the ratio based on conditions. I have heard of folks injecting water and all kinds of other stuff, any reason why these devices couldn't be used to inject supplements?
