Sprung a monster leak!
Yesterday I started dumping oil like a re-enactment of the ill fated Exxon Valdes disaster. Figured out it was the pressure line to my bypass filter. Made it to the hose place and had them make me a steel braided line and slapped it on in the lot.
Lesson learned, always use steel braided lines on the pressure side!

Now that makes sense. I've been using rubber hose on all kinds of oil lines for years. Just need to use good quality hose of appropriate ratings and route them carefully. Tie 'em down and make sure they have extra protection anywhere near a possible abrasion point. I like to use pieces of old scrap hose as an outer layer wherever they touch something and zip tie them down snug wherever possible.
It would be quite expensive to use steel braided lines on the 22 feet of tubing connecting my bypass filter!
