AC sprung a leak
AC sprung a leak
well a few days before my transmission problem my ac quit working. well the hose (pipe) below the oil filter got pushed over and rubbed a hole in the pipe. as you know there is not a lot of room around the oil filter so I can understand how this could happen. something you might watch out for on your truck. Anyone know a good place to pick up this pipe. or is it a dealer only item?
I found a listing for it at either Autozone or Advance Auto(can't remember which), but I ended up getting it from Chrysler. The aftermarket part was alot cheaper pricewise, but the part just looked like the quality matched the price.
As the hoses and compressor are different on the gas engine to the diesel the chances of finding a diesel in the wreckers is next to zero. I suggest go to the dealer. My truck came without AC and I installed it, I hunted for ever for parts in the wreckers to no avail. In the end I went to the dealer and just bought the parts new. Don't forget to evacuate the system before recharge.
