1st gen dyno run at IRP

Seen a 1st gen dyno in Indy (IRP), looked just like my truck, only less HP. Guess I should've taken the late Pastor Bob's advise of not doing too many things at once. Changed injectors, intercooler/aftercooler and timing (pump gear advance, ksb locked). I'm hoping it was just too much timing and or small turbocharger. I've got the pump gear advanced a tooth, and the pump head still almost up against the head. I also stuck a cold beer can between the power steering pump and injection pump (against the ksb) to make sure the wax pellet, or whatever the term is, was at the cold start point. Then unplugged it. This way nonIC'd style, the pump would be locked in advance.

423hp/801ftlbs down from 450hp/918ftlbs. Not what I was looking for, but I'm gonna back off the timing and try a bigger single charger (Pro52).

I will say I made more power at a higher RPM compared to my 450hp dyno run last year at Scheid's event. Scheid event I made 400hp at 3000rpm. 350hp at 3200rpm. Little to no HP beyond 3200rpm. This run I made 423hp at 3000rpm, 400hp at 3250rpm, 350hp at 3500rpm. Run out to about 3800rpm. Picture of dyno sheet in my gallery, pending approval.

Still excellent numbers, especially for #2 only.

looked impressive. Wish mine would do that. I don't feel my tranny would hold up to the torque. maybe next year i'll shove in some stage 4's and blow alittle more smoke.

Since the smoke never cleared I would say so. Still a good run tho.

HTT's Sledpuller 66 with 14cm housing. 50psi of boost on the dyno, same as the street. BTW all that smoke was made with the 'leanest' AFC settings. Starwheel all the way up top, smoke screw threaded all the way out, stiff AFC spring, stock afc cone and pin/foot. I really need one of those 8 hour dyno sessions, where I could test/tune and try different things out. Course don't we all .

No problem. I'd probly do better with one of those 'Phat Shaft 62's 64's or 66's. I'm pretty sure they are the full B1 or S300, not a hybrid like the HTB2 line, HTT sells. Being they have the big 71mm turbine wheel instead of a s200 65mm turbine wheel. This next charger I'm trying out has a 71mm compressor wheel and 68mm turbine wheel. Hopefully I can spool it, then I'll stick the SP66 on my auto truck.

ok, how much for one of those mobile dyno's... i bet i could make a decent living with one of those! maybe that's an idea for another business... LOL if only there wasn't a huge start up cost... well one more thing for the list when i finally build my garage!
impressive #'s none the less.
