I'd love to, but its just a little too far away for me, plus we're having a little tractor pull out here on the 24th.

I'd love to try and make it, however; I really don't have the money right now. There is a chance I may ride down sunday with a friend in his Fword, but I'm not sure yet, I may have to work.

A first gen won the modified class tractor pulls last year.

Then again, it had a P-Pump in it, but at least it looked better than the Duramaxes that it was competing with.

I'll make it there in my truck next year... This year I'm stuck in a rental again, though.

I don't really know anyone that is going to IRP, everyone that I have talked to that went last year said it was hot and there is no shade. Also everyone that I know that is/was envolved with the DHRA pulling seems to be boycotting it this year. I was over at Haisley's shop today and none of them are going to IRP.
... sounds like we'll be going south to Tampico for the pull... sounds like it should be good times... and cheaper... just a bit farther...

Haisley

Most likely they will pull at IRP, then drive to Tampico for the evening (7pm) pull, just like they (and others) did last year. Haisley will also be a vendor there as well.

Don't believe the hype ..

I won't be going this year, for more than one reason. one of which is, I thought it was very poorly run last year. I know it was first year thing and I am sure they got a lot of feedback on it to help in their planning this year.

Should be a good weekend for it though. Have a good time, those of you that are going.

Thumbs up

It's only been one day, but you guys that couldn't go, or didn't want to go, are MISSING OUT!!!! Talk about a ton of trucks, at least double the spectators from last year. Was not near as hot as last year either . Oh and funny how Patty w/Haisley Machine had their booth there just like last year, and Curt and Van both pulled . Still got a chance, one more day left .

See ya finally got that thing dynoed there bill(although im not one to talk, but I don't even have a good turbo) Nice tq numbers im sure that 14 could put out more then that but I know you weren't pushing her cuz of the fuel starvation problem. Still great numbers Bill, let us know how the rest of the weekend goes

Thanks Dave.

I forgot to say, it was like a kid in the candy store, all the vendors there. High Tech Turbo, Dynomite Diesel, ATS, DPS, PDW, I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch, but those just come to mind. Long distance traveling vendors at that, I was impressed. Too bad I don't have any money or need anything right now .

On the dyno, I didn't max the pump out by no means. KTA said it probly would be ok in daily driver form, turned down. I'm gonna go with 1/2" fuel lines/pickup, electric pump and bypass regulator, same as KTA. Then I'll max it out and see what it will do.

I have a pic of the dyno sheet in my gallery. If you notice it defueled at 2800rpm!!!!! One, it either didn't have enough fuel on the top end. Two, clutch slipped (Dunbar said he didn't feel it slip though). Or three the clipped/trimmed 3800rpm gov spring does not equal 3800+, but actually less than 3800rpm . I'd like to see rockjeep and or NeedMo's dyno sheets and see where they defueled with their governor springs they have.

I noticed that too. My sheets with the 3200 RPM spring all peak at 2300 and drop off, but I was chalking that up to the POD's needing way more timing at high RPM. Maybe more fuel is the fix?

It's not too bad not having money when you don't need anything.

I don't know if it is. I know my IRP05 dyno sheet in my gallery fuel all the way over to 3200rpm, then dropped off. That was 12mm pump, piston lift, hx35, POD's. Well I'm gonna try to get some sleep, kinda tough when I'm lobster boy .
