I like the flange mount to the turbo. That part alone is worth it.

How much clearance do you have from the underside of the cross over duct to the top of the valve covers? Curious is all.

I see you still have your A/C to hook up...what are you running? Still the R12, or 134? Do you have the evac, vac, and Gage's to do it yourself? If not, I have gone to that Five Star mom and pop mechanic shop on Dry Creek, across from the old Lumberjack that did it for me, when my expansion valve went out awhile back.
The crossover sits about 1 1/4 from the valve cover.

I just made a temporary gasket to put the AC lines together just to keep the crapola out until I get back to it. I know a relay is bad and I will need a drier for sure.

I just ordered that same cross over pipe to try it out as well.
I figure I might install it on Poncho along with a 2nd gen turbo with a 12CM ex housing and a new Diamond Eye 4 inch DP. Now that I am driving it again everyday, I might not get to it right off.
I do like the look of how it was built though, seems like a good piece.

Got me thinking about ordering one as well for Sno-ball for when I get to the cummins conversion. Will be using my 89 motor, so that would be a welcome addition.

It looks good when I open the hood. now that I can open the hood
It was about all I could do to open until I got rid of the insulation now It is surprisingly easier.

I got it started this afternoon. It sounded good but I have a fuel leak somewhere on the back of the injection pump. Looks like the power screw o-ring maybe that is where it is dripping. I am going to take the throttle mount parts off and see what I can see.

Pretty much normal. I was thinking the other morning about having so many things apart that some were bound to need farther attention.

Well moving forward. Looks like I got my fuel leaks stopped. So I started working on my air filter ducting. this is temporary until I get the time and money to get a BHAF.

first off I got the silicone boots stuck in the tube. no matter how I pulled the would only move a tiny bit at a time.
Some how I thought of mixing a little dish soap and water in a rattle can lid. I pulled the silicone boot away from the tube as best I could and poured some of my mixture in between the tube and boot. I worked my way around the tube pulling the boot. when I pulled on the tube it came out so fast and easy I almost punched myself in the face.
so that is how I made the mock up really easy. I put the boots on the turbo and airbox measured cut sanded and filed the tube. pushed the tube a boot to where I wanted it lubed the other side and easily got it into position for marking.

That looks good Mark. What's the parts list on that tube and boots...I have already had two stock airbox to turbo tubes crack and split on me, down to my last one so will need an alternative probably sooner then later.

Sure I bought the parts here.

Intercooler Pipe Fabrication

BRE000009 1 each 4.5"to 4" bending reducer.

SIL000433 1 each 4" 45* elbow.

SIL000280 1 each 12"X4" aluminum pipe.

CLA000382 1 each 4.5" t bolt clamp.

CLA000310 3 each 4" t bolt clamp.

I cut the aluminum type to 9"

once I got it together I took the airbox loose to get the filter in and the duct on the turbo just 4 nuts in the wheel well. The airbox end is a tight fit and once i got it on I didn't feel like doing it again. it may stretch a bit before thr next filter change.
