I took the leaking master cylinder and booster off today and made this. It needs a little more work but fits good. Thanks to Alec's sketch on a hydro boost thread, it was real easy.

I like it! How are you going to make the locator tab? I just picked up a metal plate to make my bracket today as well.

I am not sure about the tab yet. maybe file a grove and make a piece then tack weld it in. when I did my Jeep I built up a hump with the wire feed then ground both sides flat and filed the rest to shape.

That is about what I think I'm going to do. I checked out the mounting plates from the site you posted up in the Hydro boost thread...but the orientation of the HB unit on the cummins trucks is different then the GM units it seems.

Too bad the bolt pattern on the first gens is offset.
I didn't bother with the locating key. I may end up with either Dodge or GM.

Yup saw both those pages as well. I really like the already threaded push rods, and the threaded eyes as well. Could probably come up with a direct push rod swap for our trucks with the parts available on their site.

The problem is the removal of the rod that is staked in there right now. They seem to be a bit of a bear to remove.

there is probably some sort of tool that pulls on the rod while holding the socket.

Bingo. go to post #29 for some ideas.

1972 Highlander 6.0/4L80E/LoMax - Page 2 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

It looks like the top "H" part is two sleeves with no threads.

I tried this on a freebie HB off a astro van.

There are 3 indents in the socket tap them out with a worn screwdriver in between the ball&socket the shaft falls right out.

To replace put ball in socket tap indents back in.

Guess I'll have to hit the junkyard and see if I can make this method work on a JK piece that I don't have to buy....

Cool. That's good to know. If we keep this up we will have so many ways to do this that we may forget what we started to do in the first place choices are good.

Thanks Bob,
