timings questions?

i was curios how advancing the timing is done. its done on the pump correct? i haven't done this yet on my truck n i take it i should considering my mods so far, so i figured since im upgrading the turbo and doing studs i should do the timing at the same time. if its to involved for me what is the going rate to get this done? thanks again.

You will need about $150 of special tools, for many people it's cheaper to have someone do it who already has the tools.
15.5-16.5 is good on a '95

FWIW I had a local guy do mine. Paid $100, dropped it off after work, it was ready the next morning.

Would that also apply to a 98 model?

That would depend upon whether the 98 was a 12 or 24 valve.
12 = yes
24 = N/A --> The 24 valve has computer controlled timing and several after market chips are available.
