squeaking sound?

I have a squeaking sound in my front end? When I 'am driving its a continus squeak but it is hard to hear over the motor. Also I was driving it today went around a corner and made a really loud squeak when I got back on the gas and thats what started the noise.

If this will help you the brakes light is on to the right of the steering wheel. Do you think it could be the wear tabs on the brake pads.

I have read about some people saying that the brakes can cause this noise. They said if you take the pads off and clean them up good it will take care of the problem.

Hey,

My brake light is on too...but it has been on for like a year...my squeeking is new. I think it might be my hub. I know what you mean about hard to hear over the engine. Does your squeeking change tone or frequency when you hit the brakes (like if you ride the brakes so your speed is steady) or turn left and right? Mine does.
Cheers,
Chris

Angry Rowan here aka Contact Jones..long story.

It doesn't seem to be the brakes. If i'm doing 20 down the road and the trucks in gear then it makes the sound, but if I push the clutch in it stops, and when I roll in neutral it doesn't make the sound?
Front hub?
R driveshaft U joints?
gears?
axel shafts?
I feel like i'm shootin at fish in th fog.

I would say that it is a u-joint in a axle shaft. If when you are putting a load on it is when it squeak, start checking the u-joints in the axle shafts.

I'm not sure what it is front driveshaft joints sound look a good place to look...but it's pretty easy to check if your wheel hubs need replacement...jack the front up and shake the wheels around...if there is some play, it is a good indication you need a new hub. I know I need a front u-joint...bad. It is all mishaped and I think the rollers have fallen out. But, I rarely use 4x4, so it doesn't bother me much. Does the front drivesshaft spin when not in 4x4?
