HELP!!! with new "squeaking" sound
Guy's, I need some advice. First time hearing this today. Windows rolled up, radio turned off, just listening to the Cummins music. Then I hear this squeaking sound. Seems like its coming from the driver front wheel. First I thought suspension, then brakes maybe, now I'm thinking belt or pulley. Only does it loud while accelerating at a normal rate. When you take your foot off the gas I'd say 90% of it goes away and when on the brake it seems to almost disappear. Sounds like an old rusty spring squeaking away. What the heck is it.... HELP. I'd rather diagnose it here than take it to the dealership.

No, you're not the only guy with with problem, unfortunately, if it is your belt.
Check your serpentine belt. Several of us on here and on DTR (about a dozen by my unscientific count) have had our belts shred with only a few thousand miles.
Mine went at 5400 miles with no warning. Dealers for most of us had no explanation except for "bad belt".
Anyway, check it out

Noise mysteriously went away after driving in the rain. Worries me. What the heck??? And belt looks ok?? but don't know if that's it because it went away when you pressed on the brake pedal. I'm lost.

Thanks for your help wex and red. Belt looks fine. The few places where hood contacts with rubber I sprayed some wd40. Also sprayed driver coilspring top and bottom as I heard where the spring isolator is can make noise but???
Hope its gone for good but I doubt it.

Sway Bar Bushings?
You might also check the sway bar bushings that are mounted to the frame. My Mustang used to squeek a lot, but after a good rain, it would quit for a while, then eventually come back. Took forever to find, but it turned out to be those bushings. I guess they are moving more than you would think. Lubed with some silicone spray and all is well....Robert

MY 05 just had the water pump replaced because the bearing was bad. It only made noise every now and then and was hard to find. After about 300 miles I happend to be looking right at the water pump and noticed it vibrate real bad while the noise came and went. Now it is quiet again.
Truck only has 10k on it.

Well, it's been dry out and the squeak slowly returned. Now its back to full strength "SQUEAK". I think it's something in the front suspension as mentioned earlier. Think I'll try to get some graphite into the bushings. PITA

I too also have this problem and I have some what isolated to the lower a-arm bushings. Mine sounds like old bed springs squeeking. I also have the problem when it rains also, but it gets worse after it dries up. I have taken it to the dealer 3x only to have them replace the right upper control arm and tie rod end, only to have the problem remain. I'm suppose to take it in tomorrow and leave it but I have some things I need to take care of this week that requires my truck so it may have to wait. You're not alone with this issue. I'll keep you guys posted after I get my truck back from the dealer on how it went.

Dealer said they finally found the problem. Bad right ball joint. They had to remove all the suspension components to find it, yet after they did the part was not in stock I expressed that I was told this before only to have the problem remain. I was assured the problem would be solved with the replacement of the bad ball joint. We'll see

Same front end squeak!
So i thought mine was ball joint as well and changed it nope. Changed bushings on everything nope..changed shocks nope....finally found the problem which is cheapest part but hardest to get to and was the top isolator cup for front coil spring
