Overflow Valve question

Guys

i need a new overflow valve. Aside from the better (proper) fuel pressure, will i see any improvement with a new overflow valve? Ive changed it once already so i know how to change it, but i saw no gains. With a good OFV and proper pressure will i see any performance gains or feel anything on the truck?

Thanks!

Rick

The guy that did the timing for me says that you can shim it (not sure how, as I have never messed with one) and net a few (30) horsepower. We talked about it for a little bit when we were talking about where to set my timing.

I should probally change mine. But truck parts cost money...

If you mean raising the pressure above factory specs you won't see any performance gains and may even see a decrease.

Well I trust Infidel over the guy that did my timing. I trusted him to do the timing, based on the reccomendation of the local injection shop, but he is far from Bill in knowledge of these trucks.

If you've already changed OFV's once, and it's got low pressure again, check the Lift Pump, too! I know the OFV's have been known to go bad right away, but it's worth checking

About $90 from a Case tractor dealer to about $200 from a Dodge dealer.
Cummins wants about $120
