Overflow valve question?

Guy's I have a question on the overflow valve.Ok here goes I was finishing up tieing in my Grease conversion and I started taking the return line appart and noticed that you could take the center bolt out of the banjo, well I took it apart not knowing what it was and when I looked it appears to be a little ball and another little piece? My question is am I missing anything else?Is there a spring or any other little pieces?? Am I going to have to replace this part?Again I was not sure what I was doing and did not expect anything to come falling out...Thanks much Ralph

If you have a two piece overflow valve..

you should have a little ball and a spring that come out. Make sure not to lose either or, as both parts are essential to the operation of the valve..

I wish I had known that two weeks ago. I paid $75 for one and the dealer wanted $120 for them.
