Oil puddle bigger than normal.

Last Friday I sat in traffic for over two hours. (God I love Phoenix) to go about 35 miles. Anywayz the truck never got much over 190 or straight up and down. I kept a good eye on that and the tranny temp as well. Now for the problem, when I got home and shut her off after getting all my stuff out of the truck I noticed quite a bit of oil on the ground right by the front diff and blowby tube.

I did not drive her on Saturday or Sunday. This morning on the way to work and all day (about 3 different sites) nothing. When I got home tonight after not such stiff traffic there it was again. What should I look for. Is it bad. Truck has about 325k on her and it is starting to make a mess in my driveway.

Thanks in Advance all help is appreciated. And yes the dowel pin has been done.

P.S. I have had this truck since about 240k and she has not used more than a quart an oil change which is about every 10k running Schaeffer 7000 15-40

You describe your problem as intermittent oil puddeling under breather. I doubt if it is serious at this point and would start by removing the breather and cleaning it. I'm not familiar with your brand of oil, but I would reccommend trying a different brand to see if it makes a difference. I preferr mobil delvac 1300 series 15w40 or rotella T.

Where can I find info on the "dowel pin" you mentioned in your post. My 95 left a puddle yesterday and I need some advice on what to check. Did you find your leak?

King dowel pin. Basicly look by the serpentine belt. The pin is not securly held in place. It can wiggle forword and out. It is a 1/2' x 3' peice of metal.(guess) If the Pin comes out it will crack the gear casing causing a oil leak. Looking front to back of the truck it will be to the left of the big pully. If it is leaking there you know the KDP is the culprit of the oil leak.

KDP =

Killer because if it falls out it "kills" the engine.
