Re:lift pump ?
take my advise...i just did mine last weekend....IT'S A Bear* >

gotta take the starter off first..then unscrew the line off the top of fuel filter. Next, pull of black hose going to strainer assembly from lift pump nipple. Then, take out the 2 10mm screws holding it in the bracket/engine block. Thread the old nipple off pump...thread onto new one. Make sure you have BOTH gaskets to re-install, or u will leak oil. Turn engine backwards off alternator bracket until you can push the new pump into the hole far enough to thread back the bolts through the bracket and gaskets. This is the toughest part of the job, it took me 24 hours....good luck, if you have any questions during the install call me 415-713-2908 Thanks...Greg

Re:lift pump ?
It's not that bad.
Just get you a line wrench to loosen the lines.
Take the line loose at the filter housing also that way it's a little easier.
As said before make sure you have both gaskets before you start or you will leak.
It's a little easier if you have an extra pair of hands on top to help line up lines.
It's about a 1.5-2 hr. job depending on how mechaniclly inclined you are and how hard it is to get your old gaskets off.

: Eddie : 8)
Re:lift pump ?
Hello, what kind of problems or pressures were you having to let you know your lift pump died or dieing? Are you replacing the rubber lines as well? Just curious cause I am new at this. Does anybody know what size the rubber tubing is and how much length is needed for a complete change? thanks, Kevin
Re:lift pump ?
thanks for the info.
there is a ticking noise coming from under the drivers side.
my fuel pressure is about 15 psi @ idle. I know its not that low but I would rather do it now than on the side of the road later.
