Aftermarket In-Dash Navigation Options for 2007 Dodge Ram?
What aftermarket navigation consoles do you like? I am thinking of putting this in my 2007 Dodge and would like it to be touch screen etc. Pics, prices and descriptions of what you have and likes and dislikes would be appreciated. Thanks

As a life long Pioneer junkie I am calling it quits with them.
About to order me up a brand new Kenwood Excelon DNX6960. Has built in bluetooth, Garmin Nav, iPod control, and a whole lot more. Im gonna put in two back up cams, one on the bumper, and one in the bed (gooseneck view)

I've used the in-dash units and bought a stand alone unit mounted on top of my dash. I found that the in-dash is too far away from where you should be looking. On the dash it is right where you can just glance to it very easy and has an added bonus of giving you a heads-up speedo too.
Just a recomendation.

I had the Pioneer Avic Z2, and recently upgraded to the newer Z110. I liked the Z2 fine, but the Z110 has better graphics and a much better ipod interface. With the mail in rebate they were running the upgrade only cost me $150. I just installed amps and better speakers. Sound quality is very good, but not quite to the level of the old flagship Alpine CD player that was in my last truck...that was exceptional.

Well I dont have my new nav unit in yet, probably gonna order it the first of next week. I will have two backup cameras though, one on the bumper and on on my stack shield for gooseneck view...
I can throw up some pics of the install later on.

Here's some pics of mine. I mounted the camera in the tailgate handle, I'm very pleased with the resulting view, see the attached pic. I can see the hitch ball when backing up.

What brand & model camera did you use? Can you explain how you made the cutout & mounted it - looks very professionally done! Tks

Thanks! The camera is the pioneer ND-BC2. The cutout was a matter of trial and error with the dremel. It took a couple hours to get the fit just right. I figured if I totally screwed it up I'd go buy a new tailgate handle. As for mounting it I used a piece of 2"x1/8" aluminum flat bar bolted to the studs of the tailgate handle to give me a place for the camera foot to mount to. My original plan was to install the tailgate spoiler from the 2007+ trucks and mount the camera in the spoiler. I purchased a new spoiler from the dealer but ended purchasing a tonneau cover that would not accomodate the spoiler. The camera has been there almost 2 years now.
You might have an easier time with one of the generic cameras that uses a round hole. You could probably drill the hole and then epoxy the camera to the back of the handle.
