Wiring question

I have a Cruiser 5 th wheel and when the dealer set it up I told him I wanted to be able to power the trailer and be able to charge the battery as I drove down the road.It worked for a while and now it doesn't.I know it might sound stupid to most but can I assume that I have blown a fuse in the truck?I still have running lights ect but the power jacks won't work if I plug into the truck. Can someone tell
me what to do or check.

Thx Rick

How about checking the fuses in the power distribution center under the hood on the left side fender. See if you have power to the plug on the rear of the truck. On mine it's the center pin.

You may have to do some digging to find it, but there should be a fuse somewhere on the trailer side too.

This is one of those must get fixed things. If what you are saying is tru then you also don't have trailer brakes for long or possibly at all. You most definatley don't have Emergency trailer brakes without power to the trailer. My fuse on the trailer is in the 5VR hitch where the cable goes. If your truck checks out OK then you may have blown a fuse up in there.
Another check is to see if someone didn't trip the breaker or open the battery circuit on the 5vr last time you put it in storage. That switch that you either pull/push or trip will open circuit the batteries but still allow yo to have running lamps powered from the truck.

If the trailer connector is a 7 pin, the power terminal is one of the top ones, on one side of the index slot. The center pin is "aux" (usually reverse lights.)
The pin should have power with the key on. Some are hot all the time.

I just had a dead battery on the trailer, replaced and wasn't paying attention and wired the battery up backwards, positive on negitave, big spark corrected the battery. No biggie, went camping brakes were fine, running lights ect. Camped for a few days and checked the battery indicator in the camper and they were dead. Checked the batteries, both fine, checked the main positive 30A fuse in the camper control box and it was blown. Replaced the fuse and the batteries were charging again.

I had a bad battery for one thing.I replaced it and disconnect it when not in use.We went camping this weekend and I did not have a problem with any electrical issues.Brakes worked fine.I did replace the fuseable link (30A) with a 30A circuit breaker. If the trailer is plugged into the truck And battery is disconnected I still do not have power to the jacks. What is the fuse number in the distribution box? I haven't checked that yet.I will keep ya'll posted.
Thx Rick
