Trailer Advice?
Hi, guys,
I'm looking for a little trailer advice. I'll be buying a trailer in the next 6 months or so in order to haul my sledpuller, offroad Jeep, or occasionally friend's cars. I currently use a Bobcat trailer for this, but would like something a bit wider so my Jeep will actually fit on it.
If I'm looking at a trailer in the 20-25' range, is it really worth it to go to a gooseneck?
How much stability is really gained by going to a lowdeck trailer with driveover fenders vs. a deckover flatbed?
Thanks!
Chris

a gooseneck pulls so much better than a bumper hitch by far !!!
my brother in law has a new bumper pull and is always borrowing the goose!
18+4 low deck w/ removeable fenders best money spent IMO

I sold the bumper pull for a PJ 6" channel tilt equipment trailer. Its 24' long with a diamond plate steel floor, rated at 14,000. Goosenecks do pull better, guess it just depends on what kinda weight your gonna be pullin around. Trouble with mine was, I wasnt just hauling the Charger around, so I overloaded it a time or two. So you might think about getting one that is just a little over engineered for what you think you might need.

Foget the bumper pull. A gooseneck is the only way to go anytime the trailer is over 16 foot and loaded with anything as heavy as a jeep or even a small car.

Have 2 goosenecks. Had a 16' 6 ton bumperpull equipment hauler - used to pull it w/7500# load behind my F250 PowerStroke - it was fine, but with the GN you have better control (especially DRW), AND you can opt for heavier loads.
I am taking a golf cart (present for my parents) from FLA to SC in two weeks. Have a bumper-pull small utility trailer to drag behind my 3500.....I've been thinking about how to justify hooking up my 25' gooseneck to transport it !

I mean the plan is to put the camper in the truck, and I will pull a bumper pull trailer behind that.. therefore, the goosneck will not work because the camper will be in the way.

I use a gooseneck lowboy to haul my 4x4s, I've been very happy with it, smooth ride(torsion axles), most rigs easily fit (width wise), if not get the heavy duty drive-over fenders and it's pretty easy to maneuver as well.
