I actually have a toyota tundra and i'm ditching it because of the pure lack of power when towing. The truck is way too small, the engine is way too under powered, which are both bothersome even when not towing, but when you need the power it's not there, and when you need the cab space and especially the bed space its definately not there.

Your ride will be a LOT smoother and a lot quieter with a tundra..It feels like youre riding in a cadillac, but I think that's what they were going for- A nice ride, not a work horse. It's nice for someone who wants to drive it to an office daily and occasionally throw a load in the bed but it's way to underpowered to tow daily IMO

"'50's Republicans steered North America to dependance on the automobile..."

HUH??? No political party made me buy anything. Consumers drive the markets, that's why China is such a big player these days. We want everything at a VERY low price.

I doubt rep or dem forced dependance on anything other than social programs which are killing folks in the black community.

A post with truth. We the american people are shooting ourselves in the foot buying walmart. It is shutting down mom and pop stores all over the country and once there is no more competition then your low prices are headed up. Its all made in china.

Bill,
I can't remember the last time I waded through such a load of tripe... though it was quite the entertaining rant!

You do seem to be a likeable fellow, so I have to tell you that I think you're spot-on with your sig... "loose nut"

I suppose it never dawned on you that what Walmart is doing for consumer goods and the whole social infrastructure related to them, the automotive, petroleum and highway and home construction industries are doing and with the same kind of freaky long term consequences.

My buddy's new ('06) Tundra Double Cab 4X4 = 14 mpg average unloaded.
My '03 CTD Quad Cab 4X4= 19mpg average unloaded.

And, I'll out-pull him anyday of the week, over any mountain pass.

I'll take the CTD thankyou.

You can't beat the efficiency, torque and power of the heavy diesel. On my last fill my Volvo and my CTD got appoximately the same mileage....... 26 mpg (Imperial Gallons) in urban driving. I have been buying diesel for ten cents per litre less than gasoline. It is amazing to be making the decision about which to drive solely on the basis of which is the most suitable vehicle. The other pleasant thing is that neither vehicle cost much. Combined maint. for both is about the equivalent of one or two car payments per year or less.
