having problems with switching rear gears

hey guys im new to this board glad ive found it ok my prob is that i bought this 94 dodge with the turbo diesle anywho the speedo is off well the guy who had it before put a 410 gear rea in it i believe it had 338 gear is what he told me not sure but anyway i got the speedo gear to fix the odometer well then installed it but it wont go into od put the other gear back in and shifts fine ok thats a problem how do i fix this or how do i make this thing shift into od manualy please any help would be appreciated

You need to &quot;index&quot; the speedo gear when you install it. You need to know the number of teeth on the gear, and orient the gear housing according to a chart from the manual. i am sure that someone will know a URL for a chart.<br>george
