Stacks & trailers
I am thinking about running dual 5" stacks (turn outs) on my 03 but am a little concerned about getting soot all over my 5th wheel. So you guys with stacks that tow trailers, is this a big issue? I sure don't want my white 5th wheel all covered in soot ........also how is the cab noise with stacks and towing a 10,000lb 5th wheel??

In many states, it is a forgotten, un-enforced law that trucks pulling livestock trailers must have the exhaust exit above and to the side of the trailer, i.e. stacks.
My stacks are on the outside of the truck and exit about two feet above the cab.
I have pulled cattle trailers like this over twenty years with no ill results to trailer or cargo.

If your truck doesn't smoke much, the soot really won't an issue. If it smokes it alot, clean the trailer frequently. Also, if rain happens to get in them, there will be some splatter on the camper, but comes off real easy with Simple Green and a rag or wash brush.

But I like how you have them set...not too high....Looks good

Yeah, it's a short bed. I will have a better idea this coming weekend if it should be a clearance issue since the wife & I are going camping The other thing I thought about was that I could possibly move them in a few inches to help with turning angles while towing....cause I surely don't want any crushed pipes

I'll keep ya posted on how it will work out this weekend. I am planning on jacking the trailer pretty good to see what type of problems that it could possibly cause and just how tight of a turn I can make with the stacks. The stacks in the picture are 5". I have them placed right up against the front bulk head & the corner of the bed and it appears to be about 6 inches of space they take up
