Load equalizing hitch

Use a load equilizing hitch, it increase your tongue weight and also put a portion of the load on the front wheels. I use to use mine even with a hual trailer, it used handle so much better.

For a little as a 22 trailer weighs compared to what our trucks can handle, and as much of a pain the hitch is to take off and on to unload a quad, I would just go with air bags and some upgraded shocks. Adjustable Ranchos. Of couse hitch and bags together will work best.

One vote for the Hitch First. A must for any larger trailer. I have found much better control and comfort using the hitch.

How much weight does it transfer to the front axle when using a weigh distributing hitch? I know I've got 4500+ lbs on there with me and the little lady aboard...don't want any more than necessary!

With out a doubt you need to go with the equilizer hitch first. These are as much a saftey item as they are functional for towing the larger trailers. The handling is night and day difference IMOP with it as compared to without it. You may not even need the airbags after that, but they would add that extra stability as far as leveling the truck out. Good luck
