More brake controller questions

I've looked at the Jordan but in order to mount it without kinking the cable it would be knocking the snot out of my shins. There is just not that much room between my legs and the lower dash panel to mount it like FiverBob showed in the pic of his rig.

I'm considering the Odyssey by Valley Industries, it's siminlar to the Prodigy but with more accelerometers, four instead of two.

Anyone have any experience with the Odyssey?

Thanks, Dan

Check out BrakeSmart. Buy the best & be done with it.

I agree with the philosophy but why pay for a bunch of stuff I would never use. I wouldn't use half of the funtionality that you pay for with the BrakeSmart, so it's a bit hard to justify paying four times what I would for something like the Odyssey or Prodigy, or even the Jordan. My trailering requirements are pretty simple.

The Jordan is in my price range but the restrictions on where it has to be located would leave me with beat up shins and kneecaps. If I could find a good place to mount the Jordan without binding up the cable that's what I would probably go for.

How tall are you? I'm 6'1" and I have PLENTY of leg room. I've never even come close to hitting my Jordan with the knees or shins.

I'm not that tall, 5'10". I guess I've got short legs or something. Here's the deal. When I get the seat set so I can fully disengage the clutch pedal, there's only about 2.5 to 3 inches between my shins/knees and the lower dash panel.

Are the '06 trucks different from the earlier ones in that area?
I guess I should have got the adjustable pedals.

Hmmm....that's interesting.

The Jordan really performs better if you have it lined up with the brake pedal, so if putting it there interferes with your legs then it obviously will not work for you.

I've never heard of the Odyssey. I can tell you that I just had a Prodigy installed our our church bus and it works very well with the small cargo trailer that we have.

I've never had any problems with my Jordan either. I'm 5'11" with 31" inseam and have never bumped into the controller/cable with my legs, shins or feet.

Mine is mounted in the same place fiverbob's is. Don't forget that the cable needs to be in alignment with the brake pedal, not the controller.

Bulabula, where in maryland are you located? Maybe I could have look at your set up. I'm down in Southern Maryland working at the Navy Base at Patuxent River.

I'm 6'4" so I obviously keep the seat all the way back and sometimes wish for more. At least the Dodge gives me great headroom.
