Living Quarters Horse trailer issue....

Hoping someone has an idea. Went out to my trailer and my battery was nearly dead. I leave it plugged in all the time while I am at home. power supply to the trailer is fine. New battery a couple months ago. For some reason, just starting today or there abouts ( I have not used the trailer in about 3-4 days) battery is not holding a charge. SO the electric jack is dead and interior lights etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

Buy them at Costco and return them every year, or sooner, for a free replacement. Anyway, there is probably a constant drain somewhere. But if the batt won't hold a charge I imagine its shot.

I recently had a new 30amp plug installed to plug my trailer into. That is the culprit. Its doing something to the Converter etc. Guy is coming out to look today. Thanks!

What kind of charger is in the converter? Most RV converters chargers will boil batteries if plugged in for more than a week or so. If you are staying somewhere for longer than that or leaving it plugged in for extended periods at home, consider either getting a smart charger or unhooking the batteries. I have seen many examples where a converter charger will destroy a perfectly good battery by overcharging it when plugged in for a few weeks consecutively.

Do you have any 110 AC outlets inside the trailer that you can plug something into to be sure the 110 is making it into the trailer. Also, you've probably already checked all the breakers in the trailer, but the one for the battery charger may have tripped.

Intellipower converter with WIZARD. No more problems. Get the 45A model.

Agree with the above. Also shows if it is charging.

I suggest installing a solar smart charger to keep the batteries fully charged (BassPro sells them), and a battery selector/disconnect switch to turn the batteries off when not in use.

This has been a simple, semi cheap, and very reliable solution for me over the last couple years. Wouldnt do it any other way now!
