Auto Slide Hitch

I currently have a Highjacker Auto slide in my truck and I do like it for the most part. Only issue I have is that their is slop in it when transitioning from straight to a turn when it starts to slide. This results in a big BANG as it slips and engages the gears when turning a corner.

So is Super Glide the only other option out their? I don't really care for the capture plate you have to put on the 5ver for theirs to work. Can anyone comment on the smoothness of the Super Glide to the Highjacker?

Also this will go in a 2015 with 5th wheel prep, any issue with either using the factory mounts?

I cant comment on function but there are a few available auto slide hitches. Google "auto slide hitch" and you'll find them. There's even the Companion hitch which uses the turnover ball mount and a newer auto slide which mounts on universal rails.

As far as I know the companion is a manual slide, name brands would be great if you know of others.

That is not an auto slide, it is manual.

Oops..... I thought it was an auto hitch.

Where you should be looking for answers is rv forums like this: Who makes the best 5th wheel auto slide hitch for short bed truck?

Superglide

Hi
I have an 06 Mega Cab 3500
With a Super Glide in it. I pull a 5th wheel that's 12,000lbs dry
I haven't ever noticed any bangs or clucks when starting to turn,
I love the hitch, it can be a little tricky hitching up if you have to
Come in on an angle, the capture plate has a rectangle block on the back
Side of it so you need to turn the hitch head at the right angle..
The other negative to it is that with it automatically sliding back
A Looooong ways, so if you have something in the box at the back it might get
Hit with the kingpin of your 5th wheel when the hitch slides to the rear.

I have had a Pullrite Superglide for 8-9 years now and it has been in 4 different dodge trucks and I love it. There are no clunks or bangs in its operation. It is a very smooth transition from the forward to rear position. I always ensure there is a light coat of light grease on the rails and it is very slick.

Rees 15K manual slide. Have been using this same hitch for 15 years now, pulling a 10.000 K fiver. I take it apart every few years to clean the slide as there are teflon type slide strips that work with the slide. If you take it apart, pay attention to the slide rails as they look alike, but really are not. To be honest with you, I MIGHY only use the slide feature a few times a year, but it is nice to know it is there.
