We should all pitch in for mods!?!?!?!

I was thinking about something silly and stupid but yet kind of smart. A lot of people start websites and ask for like .25 donations from X amount of people so they can buy a computer and blow it up or donate .50 so I dont kill the rabbit and if you look at those wesbites, you actually see that the donations start getting extremely high. Since there are about 1600 people on this board, we can all make something work as a team.

Example: "someone needs to buy a new Sledpuller turbo for $1650 and maybe the guy only has like $500. So if we all pitch in about a .25 or .50, we can help this guy with a turbo within a few days"

Might sound lame or stupid, but I bet a lot of people would love to have a upgraded turbo, chip, exhaust, suspension, trans........etc and they just dont have the money to blow on that. I mean, a trans for the 48RE is all like over $3,000 and new Turbo is right under $2,000 and a good suspension setup is around $2000 and so on. Just curious on what everyone thinks of this idea.

I'd pitch in...

But the problem I see is that there would be 1600 want-to-be recievers and maybe 200 or so donators.

I was thinking about overcoming that, maybe we should all do it on something that someone really needs or ..............anyone else have any ideas. I was also thinking it should happen on ONLY parts that are under $1000, but then people usually can afford stuff under $1k, its that $2-5k problems that people have

I think it is wonderful idea. I am trying to save for Billet Flexplate, studs, injectors, BOV, modded CP3 and new tires so I can get back to the track. Hmmmm, 1600 x .50 = $800. Hmmmm 1600 x $5.00 = $8,000. Hmmmm that might do it.

there you go, maybe we should do something one at a time and NOT all the mods at once, another words, lets NOT abuse this, but use it when we really need somthing. I know everyones going to say "ohh, well I need this right away", but lets also setup something, like .50 donations for somthing that is $500, $1.00 donations on something thats $1k, $2.00 =$2k and so on

This has as much chance of actually working as all those pyramid schemes you see and hear about. A bunch of people give and only a couple of them actually ever get anything.

I know your heart is in the right place, but back in the real world we all live in, things like this just don't work.

From the title, I thought he wanted to take up a collection to pay the moderators.
I thought just the satisfaction of a job well done was good enough for them

Id say its simple

if u donate, ur eligable to recieve, now priorities on who is next would be an issue, I would take part in this by far, oh yes, southbend dual disk would be my wish list item, but then again we would need a limit for this little piggy bank account tho, and a maximum of one time per person then no more....
