I have been organising collections for families with financial and health problems (handicapped kids etc) for quite some time. The DTRonians did pitch in with a bundle of help for Lisa and I must say I do appreciate it. I think collecting money for people in true need is good, but playing with small "donations" to win the pot is something different. A repair help fund would be a borderline- I feel if somebody needs his truck to make a living and has a streak of bad luck and is threatened in his or her livelihood it would be possible to give this person a bit of support that should be paid back after the truck is running again.
But for playthings that are unnecessary- no way IMO

Talking about Lisa: She had a second dolphin therapy and the results are really good- not as spectacular as the first ones but nevertheless it's really encouraging to see every little step in the right direction.
