Site is very slow for me

I have been trying to come back here more but it's as slow as dial-up for me.
I can surf anywhere else at a good speed but the brakes get put on when I come here?
And yes I do have a cable modem

Any thoughts?

TIA

That was the first thing I tried.

And it doesn't matter what time of day or night

It's extremely slow for me right now as well.

Doubt it's a local issue, as other sites are blazing fast as usual.

Jack's at work, so it won't be till much later today, if not tomorrow, before he gets a chance to look at it.

I wouldn't call it slow for me, but since the upgrade I've definitely noticed a difference in how the web page displays. I get two bursts of data, the first paints the page but you can't click on anything. The second burst comes 1-3 seconds after the first, refreshes my screen and allows me to click on a link. This only happens with IE on my machine. Using Firefox on the same machine, the performance if great and I don't see any of the double clutching of the web page. Just FYI.

Thanks for the enlightening input.

As for the other stuff, I have no idea what happened today as I was at work but right now the site is working for me without issue. There is an issue with search and on my next days off, it'll be taken care of. For now, we are just going to have to deal with it for a few more days. The search problem is directly related to the speed problem. When a large search happens, it locks the tables on the database which causes the site to slow down or freeze until the search is completed. Clicking and clicking on the link you're trying to get to does NOT help you and only causes the database load to increase so please be patient and wait for it. It'll come. AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS MORE THAN ONCE.

No wonder I couldn't search yesterday - I was about ready to kick the new HD & OS to the curb!

It's faster today.

Don't know if you did anything else, or just turning off the search function sped it up.
