I have an airdog150 on order but now i am doing alot of work to my plow truck so putting it on once it get here will have to wait. and yes I am planning on head studs as I always use ARP's in all my other projects.

i just wish I would have thought about mdding my truck some years ago, before I put over 60k into a project , I can imagine what kind of a beast I would have now. oh well live and learn,.

and no I haven't had a reason to remove the cam yet whats the deal? I never looked at it at all is it like a v8's? that comes out the front of the engine. if so can I just remove the grill for more access? pardon the stupidity but i have really never even looked where the cam comes out but you bet I will tomorrow when it light out

grill, radiator, intercooler, etc.... the front of the truck has to come off so you can do the pump swap anyhow....

Cut the cross member and weld it back in. The radiator and intercooler are a given for an engine swap or cam swap.

My first gen has a P-pump converted 24V in it. Did the swap 5 years and 55k miles ago. It daily drives and tows fine. My mileage is down a bit with these 024DV's, but I still get right at 18(was getting 19 combined). No smoke issues as long as i don't get carried away with the throttle. Never had a VP44 so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.

I hate to say in this day and age, but i am not too concerned about mileage as long as its above my durango's 13-15 per gallon I can justify that, I am the type of person who get bored very easily and need the entertainment of speed to satisfy that. call me immature

started the search for parts so I will be listing my extra fuel lines (24v) and quadzilla soon i am gonna keep my vp44 because I am selling my friend my old 2500 CTD and if doesn't start paying me for it it is gonna be mine agai, so an extra FP wouldn't hurt

I did it for the mileage. The extra 700hp is just a burden I have to bear.

its not that big of a deal to pull the front on these trucks, like 8 bolts and four clamps, and maybe a little heaving when you grab the core support and pull. why would you take the grille off, just raise the hood and it goes too

true I was thinking about some of the older trucks with hood that dont have grills, particular a 85 chevy plow truck I have been working on lately to get ready for the snow season.

cuz I was typing too fast....

may not be a big deal to take the fronts of these trucks off but a cam swap is still a several hour job...
