Other than finding another 1st gen, what is the easiest swap?

A D150 Gasser?

Ramcharger?

I bought my son an 86 w 150 std. cab for a $100.00 It's in very good condition no rust but need new door,window gaskets. Right now it has a 360 cu. in. bored 40 over so the po told me. Really looking at going the 4bt swap with Getrag or nv4500. He is 15 right now and is bugging the day lights out of me to start the project.Trouble is I'm trying to get engine back into my Crew before we start on his.

 

truck or Ramcharger, basically the same setup. Depends on how much you change from the original setup. Just motor, or change trans, axle(s).

 

I've got a 1990 D250 CTD sitting here that I'd love to put in something. I just started it the other day and it sounds so good it's a shame to just leave it. I just don't want to invest a ton of $$$ or time. Whats the fastest, easiest, way?
