I have a TST and like it.
600's problem with the TST comp is he has an HO. The comp isn't not recomended on the HO's becasue it's beyond the HO VP's fueling ability.
TST comp on an SO or HRVP works very well.

I have had my TST for about 5 years and loved it! Last year I went to the TST PM3 w/remote and really loved it. I understand what 600 said about low end power. I always wondered how much the EZ helped that but after reading these post I can see. Question: EZ or injectors??????

For the money of course!

My buddy Mike works with a guy that evidentally has the TST on his truck ( not sure which one though ) and he says he is really happy with it. He pulls a big trailer I guess and he said it really performs well. I guess when it comes to these things it's all about preference and what suits you better. I would love to try out a TST and see how it compares to my COMP!! Anybody wanna loan me theirs for a couple minutes??? Just kidding!!!

The TST Comp will make wicked power on a VP truck, but it really needs a HRVP to make the numbers. It should make 180hp with a HRVP. On a normal ETC, the TST Comp makes about 135. On an HO, the TST comp makes no more power than a plain old TST PM3, which is about 85hp

I may be in the minority here, but........I just recently switched to a TST box and would not go back to a Drag Comp. I have run the combo in my sig for over 2 years now. With the exception of the Mad Ecm and VP. I have run those for a year. The MAD and TST combo is absolutely wicked. I have run both the standard TST and now have the Comp version with a high RPM program. The fueling is mindblowing with the hot version, but as said you can only use levels 1-3 otherwise you will have pump shudder. It is either full on or off. But I use level 3 all the time for daily driving. I notice power in all levels including 9, the power never stops building, right up till 37/3900. Fear keeps me from pushing further. The lowend and midrange of the TST is far greater than the Drag Comp. For me I saw very little increase in drivability power with the Comp, other than on level 4 or 5 and only really above 2k. The TST on 1 or 2 is quite a kick in the pants for daily driving, the Comp on the same levels felt like nothing was added. I have had a few people who know my truck take a before and after ride with the TST and Edge combos, and all have been left speechless after the Mad/TST ride. Don't get me wrong the Comp works very well, but not even close to the TST/Mad combo. These results are after testing with the Stock ECM, Drag - Mad,Drag - TST, Mad - TST,Stock Ecm. i did all this to find the best combo for Daily get up and go driving. The Mad ecm is by far the best bang for the buck increase. The Mad ecm lights my twins very quickly, making driving fun in daily traffic. I hope to have dyno and 1/4 times soon for the combos, and maybe the Edge will get the top spot, but for DAILY driving I Love the MAD/TST combo.

Fred, Nice to see you over here!

Are you saying you still get Shudder with PM3 Comp...even after the TST VP?

Have you tested MAD ECM/TST in Drag Launch mode? Several of us have sold them due to overfueling off the line...causing delayed spoolup, slow launches and in some cases quenching the flame. Myself with PM3, two others with Drag Comps.

Hey RJ, Yes I still have Shudder with the TST VP. I believe a lot of it is just severe throttle sensitivity, not really shudder. The Shudder shows up at max rpm when your let out of it. The pump doesn't respond right away, like its on crack. So the truck doesn't want to idle down normally. But I am most likely wrong, just a hunch. With twins delayed spool is a way of life when racing ( at least mine). I launch with an eggshell under my foot to build boost. I feed the fuel real slow until the turbos light. Then bam your gone, no real problems with putting out the flame. If you just mash the throttle, yes it will fall on it's face, but you have to drive our trucks like you would a heavily fueled big rig. Only enough fuel to get you going and lit, then you can drive as hard as you want. My Drag comp acted the same way during launch, had to feather the throttle to get it lit. All in all the standard TST worked real well with the MAD, alone with the stock ECM ya it could be doggy as fueling doesn't reach max until 20psi is made. But the MAD/Standard TST combo was really impressive, much harder fueling that the Edge combo. And with the standard TST pump shudder is non existant, for me at least.

I've been through the MAD special ecm/drag comp and standard MAD ecm/TST deal. My MAD ecm is for sale in the classifieds. I went back to the stock ecm and stacked the TST with an Edge EZ. Holy cow!!!! That is what I was looking for powerwise. I think the MAD is a great piece until you start trying to use major fueling mods. I also have the custom TST Comp with several changes over the production TST Comp. I'd say it's on par with a Redline box. The drag comp is no where close to providing the power increase that I saw with the EZ and TST Comp stack. The truck will launch as hard at a 10 pound launch with this combo as it did at 18 psi with the drag comp. if I was going to purchase another 2nd gen for the wife to drive instead of a 3rd gen I would keep the MAD for that truck. But I can't even hit my truck from a punch with the mad on it. It loads up, blacks out 4 lanes of traffic with smoke, and doesn't start moving out until it sees over 20 psi. With smaller injectors and the mad with a box it screams but my setup just won't allow it to work.
