Well havnt posted in quite a while but I just got done building up a truck that i bought wrecked, a 99 1 ton 2wd HD Cab and Chassis that with a western hauler bed that i converted to 4x4, I have a Valair #3850 Dual Disc and a Smarty w/ REVO stacked with a TST Competition and all necessary gauges, pyro, boost, FP.

On to the Problem...

if the smarty is loaded on any settin except 1/2 power and the tst is on 6 or higher it will surge and buck really bad at light throttle. but once you get past 1/2 throttle or so then everything is fine. what is the problem???? I know quite a few ppl on here are running this stack r yall having the same issues or not???

That is normal. My 01 did the same thing. I dont remember why it does it, but there's a reason.

Pretty sure that is has to do with the truck getting to much fuel! Mine does it to if my tst is on any level higher then 5!

 

Mine just lately started surging on every level. Even retruned Smarty to stock all levels still surge at any thing above 1/2 throttle. Don't know what is up. Once in awhile I turn it on and it runs like bat out of hell, with no surge.

I would adjust the TQ management down on the Smarty to stock, Lower the Smarty level to Three. And run level 5 on the TST. That should run good.

 

I run Smarty on SW3, default on everything. Tst still surges like crazy on any level. When Tst runs good once in a while it runs best on level 5 with Smarty on SW3.

 

Had truck on rollers before Helix 2, valve springs and with a TST PM3 it made 448 hp. That was on a Dynojet 248.

did you have the smarty then or just the pm3

 

I had both then, made 357hp without the TST even turned on. Want to get this surging problem fixed and get back on the rollers.
