Working on these trucks all the time, I've noticed that the brakes last at least twice as long on the manuals. Nobody seems to downshift the autos when slowing.

I've also seen several expensive autos trashed due to a simple leak. The cooler lines vibrate and get worn through by the brackets actually designed to keep them secure. Ironic huh?

 

Yeah, those plastic line clips are evil. Best thing you can do is take them off and replace them with a split piece of rubber fuel line and a couple zip ties.

 

That's my favorite "alternate repair method" too.
