Throttle position sensor
Throttle position sensor
I inadvertently posted this to 1st gen and my only reply was that I was obviously lost and would do better to post in second gen.
I have installed an engine brake on my 2001 Ram Cummins. I am apparently getting wrong voltages from the TPS and the engine temp sensor. The brake manufacturer tells me that these voltages must be in the proper range for the brake brain to function. Can someone please tell me about the TPS and how to trouble shoot it?

You have an "APPS" Applied Pedal Pressure Sensor the earlier 2nd gens had the TPS.
Try resetting your APPS by following this procedure:
Remove the negative battery cables from BOTH batteries and turn on a light, open a door...what ever you like to be sure the power is drained from all sources and let it sit for 30 mins.
Then hook both cables back up and insert your key turn it to the on position but do not crank starter then turn it back off. Do this two more times 3 in all and leave it on on the 3rd time. (on-off-on-off-on)
Then slowly press the throttle all the way to the floor and slowly back up turning off the key when finished. That resets the APPS and may solve your problem if the APPS is not too far gone.
