condensr is right about the injectors but 370's are just so darn cheap. i'm not sure what the 180 pump will produce there isn't much difference in a 215 and 180 just the injector hole sizes. why are you going with an auto for sled pulling and if you go with twins you'll be playing with the big boys in the pulls

Around here there aren't realy any "big boys". I'm going to an auto because my wife has a hard time with the manual. I dont sled pull a lot, maybe 5-6 times a year.

all those prices are without labor and machine work wich would probably add another $10,000.

i would have to take it to a machine shop to do the o rings and the stuff that takes special equipment, but i could do the installation and assembly. but this has been on the list for quite some time now, a high performance streetable major horsepower truck. so, whats the highest streetable hp? and i mean borderline....

I believe MADDOG runs 700HP on the street and 1000+HP on the track.

Id say a combination of both

I think that 600 horses is pushing it for streetability. Smoke will be the big one especially on a manual trans, on an auto, a touchy throttle as well as no weight in the bed will equal hook ups.. IMHO

well its gunna have a built auto behind it. and im not worried about the smoke itll have wide tires under it... like micky t's almost. put a little weight in the bed and ill be good to go. and i was kinda hopeing for around 800 hp.

I talked with a few more vendors today, and all have told me 600 is streetable with twins, but 600 with a single is a pain to drive. I plan on twins so that will help. I would think a valae (spelling) switch would help also.

Did you pull at Big Iron in Fargo this year?

Ever see Gus Mackereth's "Big Boys Toy"? He pulls with Heartland Truck Pullers and Red River Valley Pullers. He comes from the St Cloud area and fits in the "big boys" category.

I wanted to pull at big iron but the said all the spots were already filled, so I didn't even go. I went to the pull in wadena, but there weren't any real big pickups there either. It was more like a bunch of locals getting together to have a good time. Which is fine with me, I had fun and met some new people. I'd like to get to a few more next year, but I'll have to see what my work schedule is like.

I didn't go to Wadena. Perham was 2 weeks prior and they had a lot of strokers show up for the diesel stock pulls.

If you sell the 24v can you get enough value from the truck & bombs to do the 98?

An auto requires upgrade and the sooner the better.
350 miles to Goerends is the closest full trany shop.

If I sell my 01 and the mods I should have enough to pay for the tranny, pay off my new snowmobile, and put some down on the pickup. Mods would come slow. The reason I might be selling the 01 is I may be taking a job that pays less than what I make now, but its I went to school for (the second time).
